Is there a way to send an alert to only the employees manager?

We are currently on PeopleSoft version 9.2, PeopleTools 8.56.25

We would like to know if it is possible to send an alert specifically to an employees manager. The alert is pulled based on a query. In the query, we identify current employees that have applied for open job postings. We would like to trigger an alert to be sent to the employees current supervisor to let them know their employee(s) has applied for an open job posting.

Is this possible to do this? We know we can define an override email notification to go to a USERID or email address on the Notifications System Overrides but this will not help as the data will always change depending on the employee that has applied for an open job. Adding a distribution list the the alert when it is run is not appropriate either for the same reason.
