Details on AD-TXK Delta 15 new feature: "Database Editions Native Cleanup"

According to https://blogs.oracle.com/ebstech/post/ad-and-txk-delta-15-updates-now-available-for-ebs-122 and Doc ID 2938001.1 , AD-TXK Delta 15 includes a new feature, Database Editions Native Cleanup:

"With Oracle Database 19c Release Update 19.18 or later, cleanup of unused editioned objects in old database editions is handled by a background cleanup process in the database itself.

A requested cleanup in adop will signal to the database that an old database edition is no longer in use, and over time the database will clean up unused objects in old editions using a background job, allowing adop cleanup to complete much more quickly."

Does anyone has any experience how is this related to the cleaning up / dropping old editions? Is this same or similar to running the cleanup process (following commands in the order shown)?
