How to cancel a fulfilled order line

Hi guys,

Would like to get advice on cancelling a fulfilled line for non-shippable items. I have a scenario whereby once the order line is booked for non-shippable items, then it will progress through fulfillment and invoicing, unless hold is applied to line to prevent it to proceed to invoice until the hold is released.

However there are some time, the order line need to be cancelled due to wrong order information, and the order in fulfilled/pending invoice status cannot be cancelled by the oracle canned function via 'Action' button - 'Cancel'.

We did think of custom solution to 'force' cancel the order line with cancel API or direct update table, but we are not clear on the impact on the downstream process and workflow as well as the related tables (OE, WSH, ETC?).
