Jan 2024 OJVM/RU patch bundle (Patch 36031426) process taking forever to complete

We have started deploying the Jan 2024 OJVM/RU patch bundle (Patch 36031426). We have noticed that the patch process is taking forever to complete. The prereq checks and opatch "apply" process is taking longer than we have seen in previous patch cycles. Is this due to the amount of patch directories that need to be reviewed/cycled through during the patch process? (8 patch cycles)

We used to be able to complete the patch process in under one hour. It is taking 1.5 to 2 times longer now.

We are on Oracle Database version 19.22 running on Oracle Linux 8 VMware.
