Orchestrator groovy fails to produce output after a certain data request size

JD Edwards Tools Release 9.2.5.6

I have an orchestration with a data request and we manipulate the output with groovy. Up to a certain row count it works fine but after hitting some threshold (yet to be determined) it only outputs an empty array. No orchestrator error or AIS server log errors occur.
