Beginner Q - Snapshot deletion - OLVM

Hi All

I am an absolute beginner and I have a question that will sound dumb ...

I have a 3 days old snapshot of a Production server (some one created after an application upgrade) and I need to merge it to the base and delete the snapshot

In VM Ware, It is just a matter of delete the snapshot and the merging to the base will be done automatically while the server on line

I read a number of OLVM (docs and Google) and it seemed that it is the same

ie I simply delete the snapshot while the server online and it will auto merge to the base and the server will running ... no outage, no impact
