Effect of too many components in database

(A general question, not version specific.) When creating a database, a DBA chose to install all components (or options), such as JVM, Spatial, Vault, Lebel Security but we never used and will never use any of these. What is the effect of having these components installed? The database will be slightly bigger but that's not a big deal. I think applying a quarterly patch to this database will take longer than if these components are removed. What else?
