Benefits of using SOA gateway VS REST Web API

Hi All

Good afternoon. We have just upgraded our database to 19C and are using EBS R12. We like to use the new features of 19C and explore about the benefits of SOA vs REST Web API.

We have 2 school of thoughts about using SOA VS REST Web API.

Could any one provide me some guidance why SOA is better than REST Web API or Vice Versa?

By googling the article, some folks have mentioned that SOA gateway is very old technology.
