Oracle performance
Oracle DB 19.22 Enterprise Edition.
We are replacing servers. Our current server has 2 CPU's (4-cores). We use hyperthreading. Since 4-core CPU's are not readily available we were going to purchase a server with 1 CPU (8-cores). Our memory allocation (SGA) will not change. The network cards to the storage array will be 2.5 times larger in capacity. The server team wanted to know if Oracle ran better on two CPU's as opposed to one CPU. I don't think it makes a difference since the SGA allocation is staying the same. Any thoughts out there on this?
