Why did SCHEDULER user account become disabled twice in a week?

Our SCHEDULER user account was disabled twice this week resulting in scheduled jobs failing to execute. Have not changed this password since the setup of the scheduler nor have added new jobs to the scheduler recently. The job in question was set up years ago, and our last tools release was done last year. What can be causing this to occur?
