Migration of Virtual Servers network Card (model E1000 to VMXNET3)

Hi Experts,

One of our production servers (JDE Deployment Server) is running with E1000 Network interface (Nic’s). the E1000 series model network interface card (NICs) connected to VMs are emulated and may pose certain risks (data loss, performance degradation, limmited scalability etc) and limitations in our Windows Virtual server infrastructure. To mitigate these risks and ensure optimal performance, stability, and security, organisation planning migrating to the VMware recommended VMXNET3 model NICs.

Server Details : VM, os - Windows 2003 standard

we are using JDE Xe.

Question is, is there any application or License dependancy with existing E1000 MAC address?

do we need to assign the same MAC address to the new VMXNET3 model NIC?
