What are the effects on production if EPM Release is shifted to occur once every 3 months?

1. Is that possible? If yes, could you please share the pros and cons as well?

2. Whether it impact the security updates?

3. In the past, we skipped the update from the system for 2 consecutive months using the skip update functionality. Do we have any other options that will avoid the manual skip update every month?
