Is there a more detailed document out there that shows how EnterpriseOne Search functionality works?

9.2.7.2 I am currently working on some EnterpriseOne searches and the search functionality seems to be a little funky. i.e., no way to use a wild card to search for things that contain a certain number, series of numbers, or words, etc.
