what can be discarded from patch_top_dir?

Oracle C19.22 in a windows environment.

Typically, when running a bundle patch I remove the previous patches back to the initial build 19.3 and apply the new patch. The old patch files are still in the patch_top_dir. Is there any value to retaining them there? Or could I recover HD space by removing all but the last bundle patch installed?
