How can I monitor/audit changes being made to directory permissions?

We are using Big Data Clusters on OCI (Compute Edition 21.2.2-20) and need to ensure that changes to the environment are being monitored. Without having to employ a 3rd-Party Tool, how can we audit changes being made to directory permissions?
