Is there a point in creating an oil change service type for units (assets) on an unscheduled basis?

We have units (equipment) that need to have an oil change after every 5k miles driven. This would be an unscheduled basis work order for these units. I have made an orchestration that when we receive a notification that a unit is reaching a 5k mile mark, the system will add a service type OILCHNGE (oil change) on an unscheduled basis and add a Model W.O. to the unit and then create a work order to make an oil change for that unit will be created. What is the point in adding a service type and model w.o. to a
