I'm looking for API to update Project and Tasks in Purchase Orders Distribution

We recently implemented the Oracle Project Costing Module. To Go Live, we have a scenario in which the Project has already started, and multiple Purchase Requisitions and Orders have been issued. We want to show the correct Encumbrance numbers and update the Project and Task fields available in distribution. Can we amend the Purchase Orders by using API?
