An alernative to HFM client to deal with metadata

Hi all

Can someone let me know if under HFM version 11.2.x is there a way / tool to manage metadata without using the old hfm client?

We have many clients with problems installing the old hfm client.

I believe that on some occasion Oracle consulting had offered an excel with macros that was capable of importing an .app file from hfm and displaying it in excel to modify the metadata and then export the .app file again.
