Advice on ODA customization

I have an ODA X7-2 HA at Release 19.15 that is about to be upgraded to 19.22. The customer has a security requirement to install an IBM product called Guardium. They want to create a 4Gb file system, preferably on root - to isolate that app in case logging becomes an issue. Oracle doesn't recommend any customizations but this is a situation where the customer has a security concern and wants to stay in compliance.

Are there any questions or concerns I need to raise with Oracle. There will be os patches when upgrading to 19.19 so I've advised them to check compatibility. I saw the recommendation of uninstalling the product for the upgrade from 19.19 to 19.22. Is that really necessary? We have to follow DPR method when we upgrade to 19.22 which included re-image to OS 8. They are aware that they will need to re-install after the upgrade to 19.22.
