SU issue to root

in Oracle Solaris Installation, Booting and Patching (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered

I log into a sol 11 system with my ssh command as a regular user which goes ok. However, when I try to run " su - root" it gives me the following:

Roles can only be assumed by authorized users

su: permission denied

Anyone able to direct me to the location of this issue. We did STIGs not too long ago and I suspect it may be an issue with this.
