Oracle Processes contain PDB vs CDB

I have a PROD & TEST environment. I notice on TEST the oracle processes all contain the PDB name while on PROD they contain the CDB name. There is an spfile, hc, init for TEST PDB and spfile, hc, orapw for TEST CDB but PROD only has the PROD CDB files. I need to clone the TEST PDB to PROD PDB for a go-live and am having issues creating the db link so suspect this underlying configuration may be part of the issue.
