Line Type W SO's

If I create a line type W SO, it will create a WO just for that SO and relate the two. The WO will have the related SO and the SO will have the related WO populated in the orders. While testing I changed a date on the WO, it did not update the SO. I also changed the date of a SO and it did not update the WO.

I'm not sure if this is a setup issue but I thought if you update a date (Request Date) on one the other would update because they are related. Is that not how it works?
