zfs pool <rpool> does not support boot environments

I am working with a virtualized system and attempting to run the lucreate command on the system. However, I get the "ERROR: zfs pool <rpool> does not support boot environments".

Never had this show up before. Is there something I did or need to do to fix this issue. The host has a pool called ldompool. Can any of you smart folks able to help me out with this? Not sure what the issue is.l
