E1 31A How to correct a work order mistakenly updated by R31802A/R31804

Hi everyone

I just want to aks for advice in the following situation, we have found that sometimes among thousands of work orders, some of then have been mistakenly updated by tha manufacturing accountig reports W31802A and R31804, but this work orders did not have any shop floor activity reported against it.
Now we need to report the actual shop floor activiy, can we set the status to "40" and report it without any problem or we need to create a new work order?
Some of this work orders belong to a "W" line type item.

What would be the best practice or reccomendation to correct this issue?
