Kernel parameter(s) for EBS app tier servers

Hi -

Our Unix/Linux|OS team has notified us about changing some kernel parameters across all of our EBS application tier servers. They have mentioned it is because of a vulnerability. We are not sure what impact this will have on the application though.

Would anyone know if we can change the below parameters from '2' to '1'?

Kernel parameter: net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter
Kernel parameter: net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter
