Oracle Mobile Maintenance 10.1 responsibilities to use, what is best?

We use custom responsibilities and not the Maintenance User Workbench responsibility, but the custom one has Maintenance Engineers Workbench on it. Is it better to use the base application? I cannot get that one to show up a responsibility choice as well.
