Can we provide access to a specific user group to enter transaction for previous period?

We got a request to check if there is any option in JDE to give access to a specific group to enter transaction to previous period when the previous period is opened?

Except that group No other user should post any transaction to previous period even though period is reopened

I dont think there is such option in JDE to restrict user access based on period.is there any other option?
