Will EBS Patches overwrite all target files from patch source, or just the ones with lower versions
I'm a developer and I'm thinking of getting my DBAs to apply a rather large EBS patch, consolidated. But we've applied 1-off patches over the last year, and some of the files in those patches have higher versions than the same file in this large consolidated patch. I just want to make sure the regular patching mechanism doesn't undo the higher versions we've already applied to fix other issues.
Or, when you do patch analysis as a DBA, does OPatch or some other tool tell you to merge other patches in to bring these files back up to the correct higher version or something?
