E-SBC to Internet without firewall

We have an SBC 3950 version SCZ9.2.0 Patch 5 and we want to have a direct connection to Internet to configure trunk with external and cloud providers.

Can we set this connection without an external firewall? We understand that the SBC could work as a firewall with the ACLs and more configurations. What is the official posture of Oracle? Is there some documentation about this scenario?
