How Can I Link a specific Expenditure type for an Inventory Item ?

Our Inventory item List Contains thousands of materials as we are construction company.

so that our Expenditure type list a bit long list .

so how can I Link a Default Expenditure type to an inventory item or inventory category

so that i can make it easy for the people making the transaction requests instead of choosing between long list of Expenditures .

Please Help , I'm🙄 stuck in this since a long time .
