Associate many items to a product line

Hey all,

We are on 12.2.8, and are a manufacturing org with hundreds of thousands of unique SKUs that go into one to many different configured item number bills of materials. We are looking to see if it's possible to associate a part number (and also the value of that item sitting in inventory) to a product line. We keep product line names as an item category on the top level configured item number assembly. Going down one level in the bill of material of any given configured item is pretty simple, and easy to associate those items. The problem comes when
