repercussions of changing branch/plant constants

We are running JDE E1 9.2.7.4. We have two branch plants that have the same supplier number defined in P41001 as they both roll up to the same company. What are the repercussions of updating the supplier number in P41001? Users would like the default Ship To in P4310 to be updated to a different location than the current set up. In P4310 processing option 1 on Interfaces tab is set to 1.
