General Ledger - FERC 898 - Expanding the Natural Acct Segment - ideas please

FERC 898 - Basically states the requirement to update the FERC account segment to 5 digits.

Currently in Oracle GL, we have our GL Account set so that the FERC segment is 4 digits. (varchar2(4))

We are just wondering how other Utilities or areas that are under FERC are handling this request. We are trying to avoid creating a book and all of the work that would be required to move or recreate the necessary items to expand the FERC segment.

We currently only have about 600 FERC accounts established in the system. (FERC = XXXX)

Idea we have now, (let me know if these are horrible ideas or not).
