how long does PSPPYRUN take you?

I am trying to get budget approval to hire a developer to trouble shoot our pay calc, PSPPYRUN, process and would love input from others on how long a full calc typically takes for your organization. I don't have any evidence—but I don't think it should take 45 minutes to run a calc for roughly 3,000 employees. Please provide the following:

My answers are as follows:

# of employees being run at once: ~3,000 employees split between 4 pay groups (roughly 2600 employees in pay group 1, 185 employees in pay group 2, 128 employees in pay group 3, and 4 employees in pay group 4). All are attached to a single Pay Run ID and PSPPYRUN is kicked off for the single Pay Run ID.
