Essbase 21c on premise using SQL Express

We are intending to migrate ESSBASE 11g to 21c on a Windows 2022 server as an independent deployment. The certification matrix lists for RDBMS as Target Database for RCU

Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP2 for 21.1 and higher

Microsoft SQL Server 2019 for 21.3 and higher

Does anybody know the reason why Microsoft SQL Express is not listed?

Does anybody know if it will work using the EXPRESS edition?

Our current 11g repository has currently less than 200MB. Isn't it a bit excessive to license a SQL Server for this purpose?

Would be great to get some info
