Expired Leases and related Assets in AM

When a lease within the Lease Administration module reaches the date of expiration, should the corresponding asset related to said lease systematically be disposed/retired in Asset Management (via setup)? We have found that many of our Payable leases that have expired still have an asset record in AM that is in an "In Service" status. Is there some sort of setup somewhere that enables this, or are we to manually retire/dispose of these assets?
