Refunding a Parent Plus Loan to a Student.

We've been processing PLUS Loans and setting the Loan Refund Indicator on the Manage Direct Loan App page to "Student," as requested on the PLUS Loan application. The Student Financials team is now asking for the Sponsor ID (Borrower ID) to process the refund to the student. Is this a new standard practice?  Or could something be missing on the Student Financials side that might be causing this request? I would assume their Refund process would handle this without requesting financial aid to provide the Sponsor ID/Borrower ID. Any insights are greatly appreciated.
