Substitution variable not recognized by On-Prem Planning after updates from MAXL

We have a batch script that updates the substitution variables through Maxl. After upgrading to 11.2.15, Planning stopped recognizing the variable after it's updated from Maxl. The variables are correctly updated but the member formulas and the business rules gives an error that the substitution variable doesn't exist.

Deleting and recreating the variable corrects the issue.

Has anyone encountered this issue after 11.2.15 upgrade
