In a full position management setup, according to the People Books and based on the delivered functionality for the company directory/org chart or Direct Reports API gets built by the “Report To Position #” method not by the “Supervisor Id” method.
So, in this scenario (full position management and we opted to show empty positions), the delivered Org Chart for Edmund Donahue could look like this.
Now let’s imagine
- Edmund Donahue is terminated.
- His job record goes inactive, but his position record is active and not deleted. Which means, someone else could occupy his position through a new recruitment or through a promotion.
