External file storage system for EBS

Since there has a lot of big files uploaded to the EBS system during daily business operation eg. the user supporting document for approval process of iExpense, Purchase Requisition, AP Invoice etc., as well as the tender requirement/specification document for RFQ etc., which may make the database rapid growth in size, it will cause the EBS and the DB drop performance and hard to maintain or daily backup

Is there any configuration in the system which can move all uploaded files into a specific folder, and the database stores the corresponding paths only?
And also this setup allows users to direct access and retrieve the files from the file system
