How to force SBC to convert audio DTMF into RFC2833 without applying the codec-policies?

Hello,

I met a transcoding issue: VoLTE terminal calls to PSTN. Call is answered. Then called party sends DTMF. VoLTE terminal fails to recognize those DTMF signals. From my perspective this is a problem of VoLTE terminal, since it must listen to both: audio and telehone-events, unless AMR is not DTMF-able. I am sure, this is quite popular problem. Does anybody know:

  • is AMR codec "DTMF-able"? I mean does AMR support DTMF signals transmitting in audio mode?
  • if AMR is dtmfable, then is it possible to force SBC to convert received audio DTMF signals into RFC2833 telephone-events without applying codec-policies, only with rfc2833-mode settings on sip-interface?

Howdy, Stranger!
