hosts Unassigned; vdsm problem: (vmrecovery) [vds] recovery: waiting for domains to go up

in Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered

after a SAN incident the hosts are "unassigned"

  • restart of engine services and restart of vdsmd on hosts does not solve the problem

hosts show in events:

VDSM xxxx command Get Host Capabilities failed: Recovering from crash or Initializing

on the unassigned host, I see in a vsdm.log:

INFO (vmrecovery) [vds] recovery: waiting for 6 domains to go up (clientIF:729)

all VMs ale fine by now but no management task is possible

Any idea how to recover ?
