Many PRs & POs get stuck in approval workflow

My client is facing daily some PRs & POs get stuck in approval workflow and i have to run manually everytime "Workflow Background Process" program from Sysadmin.

Is there any permanent solution to avoid this ? as till now i don't know why this happened suddenly since around one month back.
