Is there a way to limit access to specific Fluid Life Events?

Scenario: We are creating custom life events for several different populations i.e. we have different companies, retired vs active etc, that will be using fluid life events but not all of the steps in the life event are applicable to every company, employments status, etc.

Are either of the options below possible or does anyone have a solution they have used?

Option 1: We want to create different versions of the same Fluid Life Event that will have different steps depending on the user's company, retirement status, etc.

Option 2: We create a single life event but limit which steps certain users can see
