Sales Order Kit line overridden and duplicated

We are having issues where a sales order detail kit component is overridden and duplicated.

For example KIT parent has three components SDLNID (1010 & 1020 & 1030) and associated component number (SDCPNT) (10, 20, 30).

Customer Service sees one or more of the components on backorder and finds needed inventory at another branch plant. They will override the KIT and component lines to another branch plant where the inventory is found and wipes out the original quantity calculated for (SDSOQS, SDSOBK).

The issue doesn't always happen but when it does the above example results in the three component lines SDLNID as (1010, 1010, 1030) and SDCPNT as (20, 10, 30) where SDLNID 1020 was overridden.
