Azure Active Directory integration with Oracle database

I'm trying to integrate Azure Active Directory with Oracle 19c database. How does this work for users using sqlplus or sqldeveloper?
I've registered the database to azure. Created the shared schema account and app roles.
Do I really need to register client to Azure?
