Repayment of student loan - advice

Hello,

Please could someone advise?

Employee declared student loan on starting but HMRC asked us to refund. Student loan show adjust in the past hasn't worked well so we just want to check if we can purge these to retro the refund in.

Or will we need to purge the element along with a balance adjustment?

I found a note with some guidance but it's specific to Cloud and this query is for EBS.
