Transportation Module Implementation in a existing environement

we are implementing the transportation module in a existing environment.

We have a order book with sales orders for 6 months ahead.

How will the shipment be assigned automatically to the sales order ? (F4211)

note : In PY i had to go in the sales order detail line, edit the line , change promised delivery date so that the system generate a shipment.

Any automatic way to do this?
