Problem with local yum server

edited Jan 5, 2025 10:12PM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 9 commentsAnswered

Greeting,
I tried to set up a local yum server that would serve to upgrade other servers that should not have access to the Internet. Everything was installed on an Oracle Linux 8.10 server according to the instructions in the article
https://oracle-base.com/articles/linux/create-a-local-yum-repository-for-oracle-linux-8

Everything went ok, as well as setup on the client server, but when I try to do a yum update on the client computer, I get the error:

"Errors during downloading metadata for repository 'local_ol8_baseos_latest':

  • Status code: 503 for http://ip_adress_of_yum_server/yum/ol8_baseos_latest/repodata/repomd.xml ()

Howdy, Stranger!
