Is there a way to make a recruiting associated reason inactive?

We are currently on PS PUM 49 and PT 8.60.14.

Is there a way to make a recruiting status associated reason, setup on the HRS_STS_DFN page, inactive?

Since the status and reasons are not effective dated on this table, if I update or remove an associated reason, it also removes any history rows where this reason was used.

We would still like to report on the use of the old reason, therefore being able to make the associated reason inactive would be preferred. This way it does not show up as an available option on the drop-down list and we retain history on when it was used.
